DJ Academy for Managerial Excellence, or DJAME, is an institute located in Coimbatore which is dedicated to bringing young brilliant minds and making them well-groomed professionals and business managers. PROGRAMME DETAILS
In the MBA, it provides a 2-year programme that is divided into 4 semesters of 16 weeks each. In the first year, it teaches core course subjects and in the second year, a student can opt for various elective courses based on their specialization. Throughout the program, there is a compulsion of 2 internships that have to be attended in the summer break, for which you will have to file a report and give a viva-voce.
The course has 16 subjects and 8 electives in all. The student has the option to be a day scholar or a hosteller, based on his/her convenience.
In addition to this, DJAME also works to groom the soft skills of a person. It is done through a series of group discussions on important business topics, interviews, real-time exposure through live assignments and a remedial programme to improve your hold on the English language. This makes sure that the student is truly industry-ready and is not a mere learner of the books.
ADMISSION
The university has only a total of 90 seats, half of which are filled through the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test and the other half are those that belong to the Management quota and are filled by the university through its own norms. The basic eligibility for a student to enter is at least 50% marks in their degree (or 45% for reserved categories) and a valid test scores in any post-graduate entrance exam including GMAT, CAT, etc.
For the admission procedure, you have to first fill their application form offline or online on their website (DJ academy.ac.in) with a fee of INR 500. Then, the candidates are shortlisted based on the general university procedure of tests, debates, group discussions and interviews, through which they filter out the best candidates.
Using their marks in 10th, 12th, graduation, and entrance test, a merit list is formed that will help to create an unbiased order of selection of candidates. The selected students are sent an offer letter and the admission formalities are then completed.
To appreciate the brilliant students of the lot, the institute offers a range of scholarship programmes that are largely based on the criteria of the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test, or merit in sports or the like. This will help students to be more motivated throughout their course.
FEES
The approximate fees for the course over the span of 2 years is approximately INR 2,20,000 which is divided into an amount of INR 1,10,000 yearly.
REVIEWS
The alumni of the institute are quite satisfied with the services provided in the institute. The sessions of business issue discussion have proven very helpful to some, but some complain that there were not enough of them. Also, the issue has arisen that the discussions were not conducted seriously by some. Overall, the teaching faculty is well appreciated by most, saying that they guided them well and that they truly helped them with their work.
The faculty was also very experienced and knowledgeable and was able to guide the students properly. The course curriculum is well set according to the demands of the industry and is executed in an efficient manner.
The placements by the institute are also appreciated and it is said that they stood up to their expectations. The campus life is also up to the mark and the people around help create a positive atmosphere for everyone to grow. All in all, it actually stands up to its name and it gives a proper value for the money invested in it.
